Presentare una serata burlesque è sempre una grossa responsabilità. Tutto l’andamento della serata dipenderà dalla presentazione, ma principalmente dall’introduzione iniziale. Innanzitutto bisogna fare una scelta primaria: interpretare un personaggio o essere se stessi?
Molti preferiscono interpretare un personaggio per dare un colore differente alla presentazione. Ci si prepara dunque d
ei testi con delle battute mirate. Normalmente questo è un sistema che funziona molto bene e, se i testi sono studiati bene, risulta molto coinvolgente.
Ci sono anche straordinari presentatori cantanti, che arricchiscono le presentazioni con performance canore adeguate.
Per quanto mi riguarda preferisco essere a metà tra me stessa ed il mio personaggio, mantenendo un sapore ironico e cercando il più possibile di coinvolgere il pubblico. La presentazione però non è mai completamente improvvisata. Scrivo un canovaccio ed individuo delle battute adeguate. Per il resto improvviso cercando di coinvolgere il pubblico, osservando chi mi trovo di fronte.
Il lessico che adopero è sicuramente più ricercato del mio solito, ma mi piace molto parlare in dizione per lunghi momenti ed ogni tanto inserire una battuta con una musicalità più “regionale”, perché ho notato che l’inflessione napoletana piace sempre molto. Cerco tuttavia di evitare il vernacolo, perché il pubblico è sempre molto vario e può capitare di trovarsi di fronte stranieri o persone di altre regioni che, per quanto il dialetto napoletano sia una lingua riconosciuta e molto popolare, potrebbero non cogliere appieno l’ironia della battuta e perdersi momenti divertenti.
Per la maggior parte, gli spettacoli che presento sono soltanto quelli dove si esibiscono le mie allieve (come spettacoli di fine corso), perché negli spettacoli di burlesque che strutturo preferisco far “parlare” la musica e le performance. Credo che, a meno che non ci troviamo di fronte a presentatori particolarmente brillanti o con testi inequivocabilmente coinvolgenti, la presentazione, molto spesso, spezza il ritmo dello spettacolo.
Certo, in molti casi è necessaria. Quando per esempio si lavora in collaborazione con artisti esterni al burlesque o al gruppo consolidato di Burlesque Art Napoli, ma, anche in quei casi, dove mi è possibile, o dove non ci sia una richiesta specifica di presentazione, preferisco presentare tutti a fine spettacolo, e far parlare di sé l’artista stesso attraverso le sue performance.
Abitualmente faccio una presentazione ad inizio spettacolo, attraverso la quale cerco di “riscaldare” il pubblico, coinvolgendolo con domande specifiche o facendogli fare delle cose. Questo aiuta molto, perché ho notato che, se il pubblico viene “preparato”, assisterà con più entusiasmo e parteciperà più attivamente allo spettacolo. Come sapete la partecipazione del pubblico attraverso incoraggiamenti e un po’ di “chiasso”, sia per le performer che per gli spettatori che, sentendosi coinvolti e protagonisti, si divertono di più e restano con quella voglia di tornare ancora 😉
Per quanto concerne l’abbigliamento, abbiamo varie possibilità: Ci sono presentatori che si vestono in maniera estremamente eccentrica mantenendo un sapore vintage, altri che preferiscono l’abito da sera, che sia lungo o corto, marsina o smoking, qualcuno sceglie un abbigliamento in stile circense.
Come spesso capita, anche in questo il burlesque non ha regole. Il mio consiglio da costumista di professione, è quello di adoperare un abbigliamento che mantenga un filo narrativo con lo spettacolo. Dove non è possibile perché magari si assiste ad una rosa di performance con stili troppo differenti tra loro, allora la cosa migliore è sempre assolutamente l’abito da sera. Non stonerà con l’insieme dello spettacolo e farà da filo conduttore tra i vari personaggi che si vedranno in scena.
Bisognerà comunque ricordarsi di non mantenere una eccessiva sobrietà, cosa che il burlesque rifugge con una spiccata convinzione. A meno che non sia una sobrietà “esagerata”, che faccia magari contrasto col carattere del presentatore ed aiuti nell’interpretazione di un ruolo ironico e coinvolgente.
Tra gli illustri esempi italiani di presentatori burlesque, mi sento di citare Alessandro Casella (direttore artistico del Micca Club di Roma), Mr Attilio Reinhardt (intrattenitore ed autore di pubblicazioni dedicate alla storia e alla cultura del teatro leggero) e la splendida GolDen DinDin (Artista, Cantante, Performer Burlesque e Cabaret Retrò).
